26.2 Miles, Two Charities, and Blisters

We’re swapping brand campaigns for running shoes in this post, because our very own Cat recently went from creative sprints to actual marathons - completing the Manchester Marathon and raising an incredible £2,000 for charity along the way.

Let’s just say… the training journey was no walk in the park.

Unless, of course, you count the endless ‘long’ training runs that Leah had the pleasure of hearing every single gritty detail about. From daily “blister status” updates to fuelling strategies and the occasional “why am I doing this?” meltdown, Cat’s marathon prep was a full agency experience.

Why She Ran

Cat wasn’t just chasing a personal goal (though, let’s be honest, running 26.2 miles is the definition of hardcore). She ran in memory of a dear friend who had been cared for at Pendleside Hospice, and raised money for both Macmillan Cancer Support and the hospice that provided such incredible support during such a difficult time.

With each mile, she honoured those who can’t run, and helped raise funds to make sure others receive the care and compassion they deserve.

Race Day

Race day arrived with nerves, excitement… and more carbs than a Domino’s menu. Cat crossed the finish line with a time (and a medal) she’ll never forget - exhausted, emotional, and proud beyond words. The crowd support was immense, the percy piglets were flowing, and yes, the blisters were real.

The Total

Thanks to generous donations from friends, family, clients, and some lovely strangers on the internet, Cat smashed her fundraising target and raised:

  • £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support

  • £1,000 for Pendleside Hospice

Two incredible charities that provide life-changing support to people and families when they need it most.

What’s Next?

Now that her legs have recovered, Cat’s traded marathon training for a slightly more manageable pace, like back-to-back creative deadlines and brainstorming sessions. And after saying never again, she’s already signed up for next year!

We’re so proud of you, Cat and we’re already working on the “I Survived Cat’s Marathon Training” support group for Leah.
